IMOW assembles Emergency Meals
Six Independence Meals on Wheels board members gathered Dec. 2 to prepare emergency meals. They’ll be distributed to clients for later use when winter weather prevents normal delivery.

Senator Joe Nicola visits Meals on Wheels
On September 22, one day before the Independence organization celebrated its 50th anniversary, Senator Joe Nicola stopped at the distribution headquarters, Trinity Episcopal Church, to present a proclamation from the Missouri Senate.
Culver’s Fundraiser June 2025
On June 17th 2025 Culver’s in Independence allowed the IMOW volunteers to work with their wonderful staff to provide meals in the restaurant. During that time IMOW earned a portion of Culver’s income and we realize that this is a sacrifice for Culver’s.
Christmas Season Volunteer Appreciation December 2024
During the week, December 9-13, IMOW gave gifts to our hardworking volunteers while they were picking up their meals.
Volunteer Appreciation Week April 2024
In the United States the National Volunteer Week is celebrated annually during the third week of April and this year it was observed from April 21 to 27. Independence Meals on Wheels (IMOW) shared our appreciation with our dedicated and caring Meals on Wheels volunteers. Some of our drivers received pins that reflect the number of years they have been volunteering. All volunteers received treats and a personal thank you from the Board of Directors. Every day these drivers deliver a hot meal and provide a friendly connection with folks who cannot cook for themselves. We sincerely thank them for their service to the Independence community!
